Blissful Ignorance Challenged

For many years, our forest was a place where we went for an enjoyable walk.  There were a couple of routes we could take, depending on how much time we had to spare.

I'm not sure why, but several years ago I started paying more attention ... and the walks became much more interesting. 'What kind of a mushroom is that?' ... 'why are those trees growing there??' ... 'what are those animal tracks???'  30 minute walks were taking 90 minutes and longer.

The door had been opened to a journey of exploration.  Our Acadian Forest would never be the same...
