The long Canadian winter is a perfect time for catching up with the books piling up beside my bed.
I spent the fall accumulating, one of which was 'The Hidden Life of Trees'. Thru a series of short, very readable chapters, author and long-time forester Peter Wohlleben makes the case that forests are communities that look out for each other.
Whether you agree or disagree with his ideas, I think the real story is that the book has become a best seller. His message resonates with a lot of people ... it certainly changed the way I view my forest.
