Tree Time

Subtle changes take place in a forest over a couple of years. You'll miss it if you aren't paying close attention
But look what happened on our farm over 60 years in the three aerial photos below. The house and barn are in the middle of the photos, surrounded by fields. The only reason the fields didn't grow over in trees by 2011 is because they were mowed every year!
Mother Nature waits for no one.

1. Aerial photos of all of Nova Scotia are taken approximately every 5 years and go back to the 1970s. You can see what is available and order images at : https://gis8.nsgc.gov.ns.ca/DataLocatorASP/main.html
2. Older aerial photos are available from the National Research Council at : https://neodf.nrcan.gc.ca/neodf_cat3/index.php?lang=en
Lots of good info at the above but not the easiest sites to navigate ... maybe get your kids to help :-)
