Taking in the Forest

'Forest Bathing' ... 'taking in the forest' ... 'shinrin-yoku' -- a Japanese term first started in the 1980s to describe a mindful, forest walk.
The idea is that you slow down and engage all your senses as you appreciate your surroundings.
There is science to prove the health benefits including:
- boosting your immune system
- relieving stress and anxiety
- reducing blood pressure
And its taking North American by storm -- workshops, institutes, excursions. Do a Google search on 'forest bathing'.
What do you think? Justified or New Age bunk???

Totally justified. Everything old is new again.
ReplyDeleteNot sure I'd pay $300. to go for a walk in the woods.
Then again, I can just walk out my front door.
But you already knew that. ;)
